In cases of adverse weather conditions or other situations that result in the school being closed at short notice…
- The decision to close the school will be made as early as possible and, where possible, we will send a Parentmail text message out to parents by 7.45am.
- Details of the closure will be posted on the school website. (www.robertlekyng.co.uk)
- Details of the closure will be broadcast on local radio – BBC Wiltshire and Heart FM.
- Parents will be informed of the re-opening of the school via Parentmail
- Updates on the situation will be posted on the school website
In the event of the school being closed during the course of the school day, the following procedure will apply:
- Parents will be informed of the closure via Parentmail text message.
- Details of the closure will be posted on the school website.
- Parents should collect their child from the child’s classroom unless directed otherwise.
- Pupils who would normally walk home alone will also need to be collected by an adult.
- If you wish to send someone other than a previously agreed contact, please advise the main office so that your child can be released into their care.
- The SNUG will make individual arrangements for the collection of SNUG pupils in consultation with their parents.
- Parents will be informed of the re-opening of the school via Parentmail.
- Updates on the situation will be posted on the school website.
Text messaging will be the main way of communicating with parents about snow closures. Please make sure you inform the school, as soon as possible, of any change to your mobile phone number.
